Library of Congress Acquires Twitter’s Archive Since 2006!!

The U.S. Library of Congress announced via its official Twitter account that it will be acquiring the entire archive of Twitter messages back through March 2006. In addition to a massive printed collection, the Library already has an extensive collection of other digital assets. The Library of Congress is the biggest library in the world.

People, it is imperative that we “tweet” responsibly. The government is compiling a historical record for our country. Your, late night escapades, your occasional weed smoking and radical #randomthoughts could be  used against  you.

I suggest that you turn your profile to private, use an alias and be careful stating people’s whereabouts.
